A visit to our prize draw winners!

We’ve had a busy few weeks here at Landscape Services, hand delivering bee and bug hotels to the lucky winners from our prize draw event, held at the Education People Show 2023 last month.

Our team made the rounds, visiting five schools across the county to present winners with their new additions, and we’d love to talk about some of the fantastic eco teams and students we met along the way!

Starting in Dartford, we met students at Fleetdown Primary Academy who have adopted a ‘Forest School’ initiative to support the development of a relationship between learner and the natural world.

Our next stop was to Valley Invicta Primary School in Leybourne Chase, where we met with Ruth and the team, delivering more bug hotels to complement their already impressive insect residence. Our Landscape Services bug hotels will be added to their collection to encourage even more visitors to the outdoor area.

Our third stop brought us to Woodchurch Primary School in Ashford. Woodchurch are looking to install their two new additions in the Spring, where the bug hotels will be specially placed to support the school’s ‘sow, grow and farm’ project, enhancing learning on plant and animal life cycles.

Next, we visited Barton Junior School in Dover, where Miss Taylor and students treated us to a captivating tour of their outdoor space, showcasing eco initiatives from a thriving vegetable garden to an impressive sun house (not to mention a huge avocado plant they had grown from seed).

Our final stop was to Aylesham Primary School where we met Headteacher, Darran. Part of the school’s curriculum revolves around ‘living things and their habitats’; we’re hoping the inhabitants of their new bug hotels will soon offer some new living things for students to discover and study.
