Green School Awards 2025!

Here's how the morning went...

Social Enterprise Kent’s annual Green School Awards was held last week! This year, Landscape Services’ Mark and Scarlett had the pleasure of representing the business at the event, which focuses on recognising and rewarding both nominees and overall winners for their environmental efforts.

The Green School Awards is a fantastic initiative put together by SEK, that celebrates students of all ages, areas and education levels for their commitments to sustainability. Whether it’s planting trees or building nature zones, each school showcased an excellent environmental achievement aimed to further educate young people on the importance of protecting the planet – ensuring a greener future for generations to come.

As proud sponsors for five consecutive years, it was a privilege to once again engage with students and see their impressive eco-initiatives. Out of hundreds of entries, 35 nominees were rewarded at the event, across categories including Kent Nature Conservation, Sustainability and Decarbonisation. We were delighted to present certificates to Iwade Community Primary School, The Sittingbourne School, Cross Keys Learning and EKC Broadstairs College – as well as award our overall winner, Folkestone St Mary’s CEP Academy!

During the ‘Show & Share’ portion of the morning, we were able to speak with students directly and learn about what they had been working on throughout the year. These ranged from ocean clean-up projects and electronic recycling schemes to full eco-campaigns designed to educate fellow pupils.

The awards ceremony itself, hosted by KMFM’ Nicola Everett, gave each nominee a chance in the spotlight as their short videos were shown or speeches were given, before receiving their certificates and awards.

It was an honour to be part of such an inspiring event, alongside other brilliant sponsors, and left inspired by the dedication and passion of each school showcased at the event. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and a huge well done to SEK for organising yet another incredible event. As we look ahead to next year, we greatly look forward to continuing our collaborations into 2026!
