We've been at the Green School Awards 2024
On November 29 2024 Landscape Services attended Social Enterprise Kent’s annual Green School Awards; an excellent scheme which rewards schools and students who have been working incredibly hard to inspire positive environmental change throughout Kent, ensuring a better planet for the future.
Having sponsored this brilliant event for four consecutive years now, Landscape Services representatives, Mark and Scarlett, attended the event to see this year’s showcase of eco-initiatives. Twenty-five winning nominees were rewarded at the event, which praised categories including Kent Recycling Award, Kent Nature Conservation Award, Kent Energy Conservation Award and many others!
After meeting some excellent schools and listening to inspiring students, here’s how our day went;
- ‘Show and share’ to kickstart the day, where schools set up wonderful exhibitions to display and present what they’ve been working on over the course of the year. These included; Hedgehog Habitats, Recycling Schemes and Vegetable Gardens, to name a few.
- A video of a fantastic performance of ‘SOS from the kids’, endorsed by none other than Sir David Attenborough, highlighting the issues surrounding climate change.
- A presentation guided by KMFM’s Nicola Everett, who showcased each school’s incredible eco-initiatives.
We were honoured to be part of this brilliant celebration and were inspired by the creativity and innovation from students dedicated to a sustainable future. A huge well done and congratulations to all the nominees, and to SEK for hosting yet another excellent event; we look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2025 and seeing how these ideas further inspire others to develop their own projects within their schools – and beyond!
