Landscape Services hosts our biggest, multi-supplier demo event ever!
Earlier this year, a momentous day at Landscape Services occurred, with the biggest, multi-supplier tractor demo event we’ve ever had, hosted on site at our Ashford depot. This one-of-a-kind event was not just a first for our business, but an innovative moment in the continued development our operational fleet.
The day was carefully coordinated to bring together our expert tractor drivers and specialist suppliers from across all regions of Kent, providing them with the opportunity to discuss, test drive and evaluate four different makes of tractors provided;
- John Deere 6M
- Case Farmall 100C
- New Holland T5
- Kubota M5-112
This collaborative event gave our front-line staff the opportunity to lead the decision-making process, ensuring that the tractors we choose are not only top-of-the-line in terms of technology and performance but are also deliver on comfort, ease of use and suitability for those who will operate them daily whilst delivering improved sustainability through modern fuel management technology
Unparalleled Preparation and Planning
The planning and logistics that went into organising this event were nothing short of incredible. It was a logistical challenge, coordinating the arrival of various tractor models from our respected suppliers and setting up the area to allow for smooth transitions between test drives. Our management team ensured that everything from safety protocols to refreshment stations were successfully planned and executed.
Hands-On Experience for Informed Decisions
The focus of the event was on our front-line staff—the ones who will directly interact with these machines. Each participant had the chance to drive all four models and then fill in a virtual form rating different aspects of each tractor. This hands-on experience is invaluable as it not only helps in making an informed choice with consideration of in depth walk throughs by the suppliers, but also boosts the confidence of our team in handling advanced machinery.
Feedback and Future Prospects
Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many appreciated the chance to actually test the tractors for themselves so we could consider their opinions in such a significant decision. For an event that has been a first-time experience - even for some of the attending suppliers - the insights gained from this event will play a crucial role in deciding which tractor will be added to our fleet.
Looking Forward
The success of this event has set a standard for future events and has shown the importance of involving team member in the processes that affect them directly. We are now in the process of collating all the data and feedback received during the event to finalise our decision. Stay tuned as we work towards a decision and reveal which make will join our evolving fleet!
A huge thank you to all the staff, suppliers, and attendees who made this event possible. Your expertise and insight have not only contributed to the success of this event, but has also helped pave the way for a more innovative and growing future for our business.
We look forward to many more events like these!
